Our local English speaking guide and driver will wait for you at Tamu/Moreh border check-point to assist you with necessary documents as well as represent you the border crossing formalities and procedures at check-point authority’s counters. After a few minutes break, we will head to Kalay . Drive through curvy, twisty mountain roads, enjoy the landscapes on the way.Upon arrival to Kalay , walk through the town by yourself and overnight stay at Deluxe Room of Hotel GBH in Kalay Myo.
Warmly Notes : Our local guide will be in Tamu one day ahead of client’s arrival to do all documentation process and also clients need to get to Moreh – Tamu Border Gate not later than 09:00 am – clients are suggested to stay overnight in Moreh before entering to Myanmar . If clients stay overnight in Impha – Clients will be late to border gate and then it will be too late to do the long trip to Kalay from Tamu.
This morning breakfast at hotel in Kalay , we are heading off to Bagan enroute Pakkoku . Before we head off to Bagan , If we still have the plenty of times to visit on the way , we are to visit some untouched local villages on the way to Pakkoku and then continue driving to Bagan . This morning , your journey begins with a guided visit to the best sunrise corner of Bagan from where you will have a panoramic view of the magnificent plains of Bagan.
And then enjoy the breakfast at hotel ,before we are to discover of Bagan “the mystic” extraordinary archaeological site that do not have anything to envy that of Angkor with its 3000 temples and starting a sightseeing tour with a visit to Nyaung Oo Colorful Market in Nyaung Oo region and a diverse selection of the most important pagodas and temples such as Shwezigon Pagoa, a prototype of later Myanmar stupas, built by King Anawrahta in the early 11th century, Wetkyi Inn Gubyaukgyi, fine mural paintings of Jataka scenes; and Htilominlo Pagoda, noted for its plaster curving, Ananda Temple, the best preserved masterpieces of Mon architecture and the Tharaba gate. Then take a lunch break at good local restaurant and then transfer back to hotel for refreshing and relaxing till afternoon sightseeing begin.
Later in the afternoon, visit lacquer ware workshop and then visit Dhammayangyi, a missive temple from 12th century with it’s own architecture and temple liked Pyramid is outstanding among the other structures. Continue to Sularmuni Temple, , dating from 12th century and it is a nice place for photo stop. After that, we are moving to Mandalay via Myingan . What’s Mandalay ? Mandalay is the second largest city in Myanmar with more than 1,2 million inhabitants. It was established in 1857 as the last capital of Burma kingdom. It lies on the east bank of the Ayeyarwaddy River, Myanmar’s most important commercial waterway that flows through the country from north to south.
After breakfast at the hotel, we are to explore the best of Mandalay with the first visit to marapura, a former capital whose name means ‘City of Immortality’. First visit a silk weaving workshop which produces exquisite handmade products. After touring this tranquil site, continue to the iconic U Bein Bridge. The bridge was constructed from 984 teak posts that were once part of the deserted Inwa Palace and is 1.2 kilometers in length -making it the world’s longest teakwood construction , and then Mandalay is well-known for its skilled craftsmen. After Mahamuni Pagoda, tour some of the city’s traditional workshops, and learn about the city’s unique cottage industry. Observe the production of wood carvings, kalaga tapestries, and gold-leaf using techniques that have remained unchanged for centuries.
In the afternoon , Continue the tour of Mandalay with a visit to Kuthodaw Pagoda, whose 729 marble stone slabs of Buddhist scriptures have earned it the title being home to the ‘World’s Biggest Book’. Continue to Shwenandaw Monastery, the only remaining building from the 19th century Royal Palace. This grand teakwood building is known for its exquisite woodcarving.

Today we are to say good bye to Mandalay and continue driving through the Shan Hills, one of the most scenic parts of Myanmar. On the way to Pindaya and Inle Lake , you will definitely enjoy the amazing scenery and tribal people working in the field . stopping often for photos of the patchwork-quilt style farms and, if lucky, to meet with hill tribe farmers in their traditional dress. Why to visit Pindaya on the way to Inle Lake ? Pindaya is famous for its limestone caves, its attractive lakeside setting, and the traditional Shan paper umbrellas that are manufactured here. Set deep in the hillsides, the caves (some of which serve as meditation chambers) contain some 6000 Buddhas of various sizes, which are made of white marble, bronze or plaster, and coated with gold leaf. At the entrance to the caves sits the 15 metre tall Shwe U Min Pagoda. After a visit around Pindaya , we are moving to oward the famous Inle Lake (64km away). This massive lake is Myanmar’s second largest one. The Intha residents have lived here for years in stilted villages upon the lake, and make their livelihood by fishing and growing vegetables in unique floating gardens. Take a short trishaw ride or walk to the Nyaung Shwe jetty where we board a private, wooden motorboat for a full day excursion on Inle Lake. Today we are to move to Keng Tung which is located in Eastern Shan State , is nestled in a sprawling valley surrounded by undulating hills and mountains carpeted in paddy fields and tea plantations. It is situated at the heart of the ‘Golden Triangle’ where the borders of Myanmar, China, Laos and Thailand conjugate, leading to it being awash with the fare and cultural influences of Myanmar’s eastern neighbors . It is safe to drive in Myanmar but driving in Myanmar is a challenging and undertaking compared to driving in well developed country like Europe . Local driving standards are poor because many drivers in countryside are not trained and do not adhere to normal road rules. Local vehicles are not well maintained, may have bald tyre and many would not be roadworthy by the standards of your own country. Roads in some remote areas of country often are potholed, broken up or are only gravel and dirt.
Drivers must be a minimum of 21 years of age. We expect you to be a confident and competent driver, with plenty of driving experience. You should normally have held your driver’s license for a minimum of two years. Please also note that all of our expeditions may include sections of gravel or dirt roads .We never travel off road; it is simply that there may be some sections where the road is not paved.
Yes you can! However, if you are bringing your own vehicle, it must be pre-approved by us to ensure that is suitable for your chosen Expedition. Also, you must be the legal owner of the vehicle or have written authority from the vehicle owner, with the requisite paperwork showing ownership. You must also ensure that your vehicle has appropriate luggage space that is capable of carrying your personal belongings for the whole journey.
In order to precede the permission application of Myanmar Border Crossing, clients are requested to provide the following documents and detail information as well.

If you are bringing your foreign registered vehicle, you also need to submit below documents along with the above. Ministry of Tourism , Custom and Road Transport Department may ask for more documents during the application.

Clients are to be aware of the following information.
For Border Crossing Tour : Licensed Tour Guide must be taken and used by clients . That is mandatory . Without local registered guide throughout the trip , permission approval will not be issued by Government Authority Concerned .
Arranging the escorted vehicle from Myanmar to escort the group is not compulsory : But Taking or arranging the escorted vehicle form Myanmar to join the big group size is advisable ( But the trip cost will be slightly going high ) .
If the escorted vehicle from Myanmar is not used and arranged upon client’s decision , Client must share one seat of their vehicle for local guide to sit throughout the trip .
It is a pre-condition for booking that you have comprehensive travel insurance, including coverage for driving a vehicle of the appropriate engine size. If you cannot prove that you have insurance, you will not be allowed on an expedition. You must ensure that you have a policy designed for adventure travel that will cover you for personal accident, medical and repatriation costs, loss, damage and theft of personal belongings and for cancellation or curtailment.
Myanmar Border Cross Tour will take minimum three weeks to get the permission approval from Government Authorities Concerned .
Entry clearance may varies, it usually takes about 10-15 minutes. However, there are a few cases when the entry clearance took up to a few hours. Exit clearance are usually quicker. For entry clearance with MTT permission at China or India borders, the assisting guide will present all the paper work to the border port in advanced before your planned arrival time
We suggest that you arrive as early as possible at the border port, between 8:30 and 9:30 AM.
Our trips are arranged on a twin share basis with the option to book a single room for sole use. If you are travelling as a couple or pair of friends/family, you will have the choice of a twin room (two single beds in one room) or a double room (one big bed in the room). If you are a solo traveler and happy to share then you will be paired up with another solo traveler of the same sex in a twin room. Alternatively, you can pay the single supplement and have a single room to yourself. Depending on the destination a single room could have a single bed or a double bed for sole occupancy.

A first deposit of 10% of tour value per person by bank transfer or online payment is required upon confirmation of your booking 90 days prior to tour departure date Once deposit is received it is understood that you have read, understood and accepted all our terms and conditions.
– A second deposit of 30% of tour value person per person is required minimum 70 days prior to tour departure date.
If The minimum number of people in the group is not reached, this deposit will be returned in full.
– A final balance payment of 60% of tour value per person is to be settled 45 days prior to tour departure date.
Notes :
– Bookings made within 70 days of scheduled departure require deposit of 40% of tour valued per person upon confirmation of your booking .
– Bookings made within 45 days of scheduled departure require full payment upon confirmation of your booking .

To offer the lowest possible cost, our trips are tier priced according to the number of full-paying participants on the trip. All costs are per person, based on double occupancy. If you wish to have a single room, you must pay the single supplement fee. On many trips, if you are willing to share accommodations, we will try to match you with a roommate if one is available. If we cannot match you with a roommate, the “forced single supplement” is listed if applicable.
Cancellation to a booking
– If you need to cancel your booking, please inform Myanmar Border Cross Tour via email.
– If you are holding a booking without notifying us your desire to cancel, for which travel documents have been issued, this will be considered and treated as a “No Show ”. You will be charged all the payment.

– The date of cancellation shall be deemed to be the date (Monday – Friday) on which the written notification is received in the Myanmar Border Cross Tour offices which issued the confirmation.
