Itinerary
Our local English speaking guide and driver will wait for you at Thachileik ( Maesai ) border check-point to assist you with necessary documents as well as represent you the border crossing formalities and procedures at check-point authority’s counters. After a few minutes break, we will head to Kyaing Tong .Drive through curvy, twisty mountain roads, enjoy the landscapes on the way. Upon arrival to Kyaing Tong , walk through the town by yourself and overnight stay in Kyaing Tong
Today is the long driving day through the high Sham Plateau and pass through the numbers of untouched tribal villages on the way to Namsam . Upon arrival to Namsam , we all will have the break for the rest of the day
After breakfast, we head to Inle Lake, one of Myanmar's most anticipated destinations and all the hype is justified. The lake is 22km long, and is densely inhabited by many different tribes in Taunggyi Dist of Shan State. On the way, we will stop to visit “Shwe Yan Pyay” Monastery which is just a short walk north of the Nyaungshwe town.
We will arrive Nyaungshwe township at noon time. Check in hotel and take a short break. Then, we take an excursion by boat on Inle Lake will include seeing the famous leg-rowing fishermen, local methods of fishing and see their floating villages & gardens filled with fruits and vegetables that provide an income to the lake dwellers.
The highlights including Phaung Daw Oo Pagoda the holiest religious site in Southern Shan State, which is famous for its five small gold-gilded Buddha images, now covered in so much gold leaf they are more like round balls and Nga Phe Chaung Monastery, better known as the Jumping Cat Monastery. Although the performing cats no longer remain, the monastery houses an impressive collection of Buddha images.
We also visit handicraft workshops such as blacksmiths, silversmiths, weaving looms, etc.

Time to say “ Good bye “ to Inle and Mandalay “ The Last Royal Capital Of Myanmar is awaiting ”, after breakfast, we are leaving Nyaung Shwe, Inle Lake and staring moving to Mandalay by passing through Pindaya , Pindaya is a pretty town set amidst the beautiful countryside of Shan State , The town is most famous for its extensive cave network which houses a huge selection of Buddha images. Then we are driving down to Mandalay from the high Shan Mountain with amazing scenery and nature . Upon arrival to Mandalay , enjoy the sunset near by the moat of Royal Palace . Overnight stay in Mandalay .
This morning after breakfast ,we are to explore the best of Mandalay with the first visit to Kuthodaw Pagoda, whose 729 marble stone slabs of Buddhist scriptures have earned it the title being home to the ‘World’s Biggest Book’. Continue to Shwenandaw Monastery, the only remaining building from the 19th century Royal Palace. This grand teakwood building is known for its exquisite woodcarving and then visit to After Mahamuni Pagoda, tour some of the city’s traditional workshops, and learn about the city’s unique cottage industry. Observe the production of wood carvings, kalaga tapestries, and gold-leaf using techniques that have remained unchanged for centuries. Finally , we will move to continue to the iconic U Bein Bridge. The bridge was constructed from 984 teak posts that were once part of the deserted Inwa Palace and is 1.2 kilometers in length -making it the world’s longest teakwood construction. Then we are heading off to Bagan , one of the most impressive sites in Burma. Formerly known as Pagan, is home to the largest and densest concentration of Buddhist temples, pagodas, stupas and ruins in the world. Approximately 2,200 of the originally 4,400 temples that are spread across the plains of Bagan.
We also stop to visit a road-side village and watch the collection of juice from palm trees and its conversion into palm sugar. Upon arrival Bagan, check in hotel and over night stay in Bagan.
Today’s excursion starts at 08:00 with a visit to a range of sites, providing a great overview of Bagan’s history, culture and lifestyles.
The journey begins at an elevated viewpoint with spectacular views over the surrounding plains. This is the perfect introduction to the grandeur and scope of Bagan’s architecture. Next continue to Ananda Temple, one of the most revered temples in Bagan and which is quiet in the morning, before all the tour buses arrive.
Afterwards, head to Myinkaba Village and Gubyaukgyi Temple, the latter of which is noted for the beautiful mural paintings on its inner walls and well-preserved plaster carvings on its exterior. Nearby is Manuha Temple and Nan Paya Temple, two smaller temples with nice Buddha statues and stone work.
Then learn more about the local culture with a visit to two workshops producing Bagan’s most famous products: lacquerware and wood crafts. Watch as the skilled craftsmen use techniques passed down through generations to create beautiful items.
Take a break for lunch (client’s account) and return to the hotel for a short rest, escaping the extreme heat of the midday sun.
Late in the afternoon, take a relaxing horse cart ride through the temple area, passing many monuments, farms and traditional houses along the way. Wrap the day up with a stop at an elevated viewpoint for a spectacular sunset over the plains. Afterwards, return back to the hotel.Overnight in Bagan.
Today , We are to start early because of long driving days from Bagan to Kalay via We will start early today. It takes via the picturesque Gangaw road. We will have lunch on the way. Upon arrival Kalay, check in your hotel. Free at leisure.Overnight at hotel in Kalay.
After breakfast, we are driving straight to Tamy and our Myanmar Border Cross local guide and driver will escort you to Tamu border then help you with the necessary documents to leave Myanmar for India.

It is safe to drive in Myanmar but driving in Myanmar is a challenging and undertaking compared to driving in well developed country like Europe . Local driving standards are poor because many drivers in countryside are not trained and do not adhere to normal road rules. Local vehicles are not well maintained, may have bald tyre and many would not be roadworthy by the standards of your own country. Roads in some remote areas of country often are potholed, broken up or are only gravel and dirt.
Drivers must be a minimum of 21 years of age. We expect you to be a confident and competent driver, with plenty of driving experience. You should normally have held your driver’s license for a minimum of two years. Please also note that all of our expeditions may include sections of gravel or dirt roads .We never travel off road; it is simply that there may be some sections where the road is not paved.
Yes you can! However, if you are bringing your own vehicle, it must be pre-approved by us to ensure that is suitable for your chosen Expedition. Also, you must be the legal owner of the vehicle or have written authority from the vehicle owner, with the requisite paperwork showing ownership. You must also ensure that your vehicle has appropriate luggage space that is capable of carrying your personal belongings for the whole journey.
In order to precede the permission application of Myanmar Border Crossing, clients are requested to provide the following documents and detail information as well.

If you are bringing your foreign registered vehicle, you also need to submit below documents along with the above. Ministry of Tourism , Custom and Road Transport Department may ask for more documents during the application.

Clients are to be aware of the following information.
For Border Crossing Tour : Licensed Tour Guide must be taken and used by clients . That is mandatory . Without local registered guide throughout the trip , permission approval will not be issued by Government Authority Concerned .
Arranging the escorted vehicle from Myanmar to escort the group is not compulsory : But Taking or arranging the escorted vehicle form Myanmar to join the big group size is advisable ( But the trip cost will be slightly going high ) .
If the escorted vehicle from Myanmar is not used and arranged upon client’s decision , Client must share one seat of their vehicle for local guide to sit throughout the trip .
It is a pre-condition for booking that you have comprehensive travel insurance, including coverage for driving a vehicle of the appropriate engine size. If you cannot prove that you have insurance, you will not be allowed on an expedition. You must ensure that you have a policy designed for adventure travel that will cover you for personal accident, medical and repatriation costs, loss, damage and theft of personal belongings and for cancellation or curtailment.
Myanmar Border Cross Tour will take minimum three weeks to get the permission approval from Government Authorities Concerned .
Entry clearance may varies, it usually takes about 10-15 minutes. However, there are a few cases when the entry clearance took up to a few hours. Exit clearance are usually quicker. For entry clearance with MTT permission at China or India borders, the assisting guide will present all the paper work to the border port in advanced before your planned arrival time
We suggest that you arrive as early as possible at the border port, between 8:30 and 9:30 AM.
Our trips are arranged on a twin share basis with the option to book a single room for sole use. If you are travelling as a couple or pair of friends/family, you will have the choice of a twin room (two single beds in one room) or a double room (one big bed in the room). If you are a solo traveler and happy to share then you will be paired up with another solo traveler of the same sex in a twin room. Alternatively, you can pay the single supplement and have a single room to yourself. Depending on the destination a single room could have a single bed or a double bed for sole occupancy.
Minimum and maximum group size of this joined tour 12-16 participants .
A first deposit of 10% of tour value per person by bank transfer or online payment is required upon confirmation of your booking 90 days prior to tour departure date Once deposit is received it is understood that you have read, understood and accepted all our terms and conditions.
– A second deposit of 30% of tour value person per person is required minimum 70 days prior to tour departure date.
If The minimum number of people in the group is not reached, this deposit will be returned in full.
– A final balance payment of 60% of tour value per person is to be settled 45 days prior to tour departure date.
Notes :
– Bookings made within 70 days of scheduled departure require deposit of 40% of tour valued per person upon confirmation of your booking .
– Bookings made within 45 days of scheduled departure require full payment upon confirmation of your booking .

Pricing Policy
Prices are quoted in US Dollars and all payments must be made in US Dollars .
To offer the lowest possible cost, our trips are tier priced according to the number of full-paying participants on the trip. All costs are per person, based on double occupancy. If you wish to have a single room, you must pay the single supplement fee. On many trips, if you are willing to share accommodations, we will try to match you with a roommate if one is available. If we cannot match you with a roommate, the “forced single supplement” is listed if applicable.
Cancellation to a booking
– If you need to cancel your booking, please inform Myanmar Border Cross Tour via email.
– If you are holding a booking without notifying us your desire to cancel, for which travel documents have been issued, this will be considered and treated as a “No Show ”. You will be charged all the payment.
Cancellation Policy of Myanmar Border Cross Tour
– The date of cancellation shall be deemed to be the date (Monday – Friday) on which the written notification is received in the Myanmar Border Cross Tour offices which issued the confirmation.
80 days or more prior to departure, 10% of the deposit will be forfeited – the balance will be refunded according to the suppliers’ discretion
65 – 60 days prior to departure, 40% of the tour cost will be forfeited.
